Core Cards

The Mechanical World Studdy of Light Studdy of Matter
The Quantum World The Infinitly Small The Infinitly Large

The Core Cards consist of key moments in the history of scientific exploration, encompassing major discoveries, theories, and observations achieved over centuries. These cards are grouped into thematic sets, each focusing on a specific domain of physics. During the workshop, participants receive these sets in sequence, gradually reconstructing the overarching timeline of scientific advancements. By positioning the cards correctly in time and scale, they build a structured understanding of how scientific knowledge has evolved and interlinked across different fields.

The various thematic sets are :

  1. The Mechanical World : Introducing key discoveries in classical mechanics, such as Newton's laws and the development of the concept of force.

  2. Studdy of Light : Covering the evolution of our understanding of light, from early observations to the formulation of electromagnetic theory.

  3. Studdy of Matter : Exploring the studdy of matter and its fundamental component.

  4. The Quantum World : Delving into the principles of quantum mechanics, including wave-particle duality and the uncertainty principle.

  5. The Infinitly Small : Focusing on particle physics, highlighting the fundamental particles and their interactions.

  6. The Infinitly Large : Addressing cosmology and astrophysics, from the Big Bang to the expansion of the universe and dark energy.

Complementary materials

To enrich the experience and adapt the workshop for different audiences and the specific message each event aims to share with the public, additional sets of cards are available. These sets complement the core cards by offering deeper insights into specific topics, historical figures, scientific instruments, and the ways science intersects with technology and culture.

These sets can be introduced at the end of the workshop during the discussion and reflection time with the facilitator.

Complémentary sets include :
